A great way to feel good, be healthy, and stay balanced is to work out at home! Sometimes busy people don't have time to get to the gym! Either you work late, or you work early, and going on the weekend involves leaving your family for longer than you want to. So, I am a big believer in home workouts. You can't use the same equipment, but you can make your own!
Yes, you could spend a fortune on a treadmill and elliptical, or a stationary bike, but how often would you really use it?
My ideas are to use your own furniture to create resistance, or cardio work-out equipment!
You can also buy medicine balls and hand weights from stores like Sports Chalet, Sports Authority, or Big 5 or websites like Fitnessequipment.com. These items are smaller and less expensive than large machines, and they can work in conjunction with home work out regimens.
For ideal at home work outs, you need a big open space. You could do this in a backyard, or in a living room or den. Having an empty wall to use is also very helpful. The wall can be used for resistance. You can do standing push-ups against a wall. Or wall resistance. Or squats with your back against the wall.
Having a towel or yoga mat to sit on will also be helpful. You will want to stretch before and after your work-outs. Also, you can do abdominal work on the mat by laying down or sitting upright, and having something underneath you will make it more comfortable.
You can also use the stairs, you can run up and down them. And also, use them as a resistance tool to jump, skip, or climb on all fours.
Working out is a very important aspect of a balanced lifestyle and
Every aspect of your house can be used to work out, you just need to be a little creative.
